The following information has not been updated for the 2025 camp season.
Important:
- Scholarships are available for income eligible families for camps. Please download the application form or contact our front desk at 540-825-0000. Please allow two weeks for the application to be processed.
- All Access members receive 10% off the camp fee.
- $10 discount for sibling in the same camp.
- All camps will meet in the recreation center.
- Campers should wear sneakers/athletic shoes and bring their own water bottle and snacks.

BASEBALL CAMP with elite college baseball players from the Culpeper Cavaliers, Culpeper’s Valley Baseball League franchise
June 10-14, 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm
Camp fee: $120
Description: All positions are welcome. Camp participants will receive instruction from a diverse group of high level college ball players from all over the country. The Culpeper Cavaliers collegiate summer baseball team franchise is operated by Culpeper Community Baseball. The organization’s mission is to provide a fun-filled, family-oriented, memorable experience and be a model program in terms of helping youth and the community in general. ATHLETE SCULPTING CAMP: Strength Training X Speed & Agility Training with Marcus Haywood
June 17 – 21, 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm
Camp fee: $180
Description: Learn how to build and improve the strength, balance, speed, agility and movement needed for better sports performance by any athlete, at any level, on any playing surface. There will be modifications and advancement available in each exercise and drill for each athlete. Athletes will need water, tennis shoes, and a towel.
Participants will work with Marcus Haywood, a certified functional strength coach and certified personal trainer. More than ten years of working with clients of all ages has developed his expertise in supporting athlete performance training, strength and conditioning, and weight loss goals. He has worked with individual and team training and taught the sports performance class for youth at PRFC. For the second year, Marcus was recently voted “Best Trainer” in the Star Exponent’s annual survey, Best of Your Hometown.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL with coach Bobby Zajkowski
June 24 – 28, 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Camp fee: $120
This basketball camp for boys & girls will focus on skills work and game play; improvement of muscular endurance. cardiovascular fitness, balance and coordination; and development of fundamental movement skills
Coach Zajkowski is a middle school basketball coach and a personal trainer at Powell Wellness Center.
YOUTH PICKLEBALL CAMP with Kat Blanco July 8 – 12, 2024
Youth ages 8 – 12
2:00 – 4:00 pm, camp fee $120
Description: Learn the basics of the fastest growing sport in the nation! Become a pickleball player through games, swing practice, fun drills & understanding of scoring. Learn sportsmanship and gain confidence while developing a love for the game.
Camp manager Kat Blanco is a certified pickleball instructor and experienced coach.
ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL COED VOLLEYBALL CLINICS with Olivia Masaitis
July 15 – 19, 2024
Elementary school age players: 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm, camp fee $120
Middle school age players: 2:00 – 4:00 pm, camp fee $120
Description: Camp participants will developing and fine tuning basic volleyball skills. They will also learn the defensive and offensive skills of serving, passing, setting, hitting and blocking through conditioning, volleyball drills and games. For elementary school age participants, this camp is an introduction to the game of volleyball. For middle school players who might have their eye on volleyball as a high school sport, this developmental camp will help build the skills and understanding of game play to prepare for high school tryouts.
Camp manager Olivia Masaitis brings both playing and coaching experience to the program. She has 9 years of experience coaching volleyball players from 6 to 18 years old, from beginner to advanced skill levels and is currently the varsity volleyball coach at Culpeper County High School. Her experience as a player includes competitive play as a defensive specialist with the Eastern View High School Cyclones and Greensboro College Pride. She is also a certified volleyball official. Olivia is currently the health & physical education teacher at Culpeper Floyd T. Binns Middle School. She has a Master’s degree in Sport Management & Biomechanics.
HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL CLINIC FOR GIRLS with Olivia Masaitis
July 22 – 26, 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm
Camp fee: $180
Description: Camp participants will work on the defensive and offensive skills of serving, passing, setting, hitting and blocking through conditioning and multiple volleyball drills and games. This camp will help players fine tune existing skills and prepare for school ball tryouts to play competitively at the high school and college level.

30 players came out for camp in 2024 – 2 courts busy the entire week, with instruction by coaches Olivia Masaitis and Heather Boggess.
ADVANCED BASKETBALL CLINIC FOR HIGH SCHOOL BOYS with James Thompson
July 29 – August 2, 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm
Camp fee: $120
Description: Advanced basketball skills and drills for high school athletes (boys) focusing on overall player development. Coach Thompson coaches the Culpeper County High School boys’ varsity team. This camp will include passing, dribbling, defensive, shooting, rebounding & ball handling drills with 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3 and full court game play!

Ages 2-4
Ages 5-7
Camp fee: $120
Description: Kids will enjoy age-appropriate court-based games, obstacle courses & more, plus imaginative play & crafts – all to encourage movement, curiosity and creativity! The camp will include themed days for shapes, colors, food and show and tell. Children should wear sneakers, bring a water bottle, and be able to use the restroom independently.
Camp manager Suzanne Wirtz has creatively supported health education & crafts in our Homeschool Movement & Health program since 2019 and has also been involved in recreation activities for area children’s camps and programs that visit our center. When not having fun with the kiddos, she is the lead Member Support Specialist at the PRFC front desk.
