Open court times for youth and adults
Basketball players, our courts are YOURS during the sport’s open play times and are also available for rent at your convenience. Please refer to the current schedule for open play times for youth basketball (15 & younger) and basketball for individuals ages 16 & older.
Drop-in fee for open play: $5 (ages 4-12; must be accompanied by parent/guardian); $7 (ages 13-17; w/signed parental permission); $10 (ages 18-61); $7 (ages 62 & above). Parental permission forms are available at the front desk. Open play times are free for recreation pass holders and All Access members.
Skillz & Drillz: Preseason skills program for youth
Our preseason skills program serves elementary school-age kids and middle and high school-age youth. We’re very appreciative of the local coaches who support this program. They are eager to share their knowledge of basketball and help participants work on their game skills!
These development sessions will focus on:
- One hour of skills work and game play with local coaches
- Improvement of muscular endurance. cardiovascular fitness, balance and coordination
- Development of fundamental movement skills
Skillz & Drillz is on Wednesdays, September 6 – October 25.
4th & 5th graders: 4:30 – 5:30 pm with Bobby Zajkowski. Coach Zajkowski is a middle school basketball coach and personal trainer at Powell Wellness Center.
Middle school players: 5:30 – 6:30 pm with Preston Brown. Coach Brown has coached AAU teams and supported the junior varsity and varsity basketball teams at Eastern View High School in addition to serving in a volunteer role with the Culpeper Youth Basketball Association.
High school players: 6:30 – 7:30 pm with JT Thompson. Coach Thompson coaches the boys’ varsity basketball team at Culpeper High School and is a personal trainer at PRFC.
This is a drop-in program with no pre-registration. The fee is $10 per weekly 1-hour session, payable at the front desk. Please don’t hesitate to call us at 540-825-0000 with any questions.
