Important:
- Scholarships are available for income eligible families for camps. Please download the application form or contact our front desk at 540-825-0000. Please allow two weeks for the application to be processed.
- All Access members receive 10% off the camp fee.
- $10 discount for sibling in the same camp.
- All camps will meet in the recreation center.
- Campers should wear non marking sneakers/athletic shoes.
- Campers should provide their own water bottle and snacks.
- Camp fees are non refundable in the event of registrant’s cancellation.

ACTIVITY CAMP FOR HOMESCHOOLED KIDS with Francesca Rojas
June 1-5, 2026. 12:00-2:00 pm
Ages 5-10
Camp fee: $120
Each day will have a different theme featuring indoor and outdoor activities. Camp will focus on physical activities on the courts and creativity in the classroom adjacent to the courts.

Francesca, one of PRFC’s certified personal trainers, also supports fitness & sports activities for kids in our regular Homeschool Movement & Health program. Francesca has a certification in personal training from Germanna Community College, with coursework in aerobic fitness, weight training, and lifetime fitness and wellness. She also holds an associate’s degree in health and physical education from Germanna. Outside of work, Francesca enjoys time with her two young children. Their adventures include nature walks, parks and anything that has to do with exploring.
INTRO TO PICKLEBALL with certified instructor George Shackelford
June 8 – 12, 2026, 1:00 -3:00 pm
Ages 7-12
Camp fee: $120
In this introductory camp, kids will learn the basics of the fastest growing sport in the country! Sportsmanship will be emphasized during games, swing practice, fun drills & scoring fundamentals. The goal is to have young players develop skills and confidence along with an interest in the game!
Paddles will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own paddle.
Camp manager George Shackelford is certified by the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR), official education & certification partner of USA Pickleball. George discovered pickleball after moving from Houston, Texas to Culpeper in 2017. After developing his own game, he began coaching friends and helping them improve their games. Along with three other local players George co-founded the Culpeper Pickleball Club and helped advance pickleball in the Culpeper area. He is an experienced tournament player and enjoys helping his students to prepare for tournaments. As a PPR-certified coach, George enjoys working with players of every level. At PRFC, George has taught clinics for players seeking to build a strong foundation focused on shots, footwork & body position (PB 201) and players interested in developing specific shots, positioning and overall strategy (PB 350).
SOCCER SKILLS (U6 – U10) with coach Clay Warner
June 8-12, 2026, 12:00 – 4:00 pm

Camp is designed to sharpen technique, improve decision making, and build confidence on the ball in a fun and competitive environment. Activities include:
- Skill development through reps
- Shooting on the goal
- Mini games and futsal match play
This camp will focus on dribbling and 1 vs. 1 skills (moves, speed, control in tight spaces)
Coach Clay Warner has coached at club and high school levels and is passionate about helping players grow as soccer players. He served as director of operations and director of coaching for Culpeper Soccer Club. He also served as assistant coach and as head coach for Eastern View High School boys’ soccer. Coach Warner has played at the high school varsity level in the US and with a competitive club team while living in England. He holds a US Soccer D License and FA Level 1 (British soccer coaching certification) and is SafeSport certified.
TAE KWON DO introductory program with Wendy Embry
June 15 – 19, 2026, 12:00 – 2:00 pm
Ages 6-12
Camp fee: $120
A great opportunity for kids to sample Tae Kwon Do! Campers will receive an introduction to blocking, striking and kicking techniques. They will also learn exercises to strengthen their core and increase overall stamina in support of Tae Kwon Do progression.
Camp leader Wendy Embry has taught Tae Kwon Do for seven years and has instructed youth from kindergarten through high school age. She has earned a 2nd Dan black belt level in Tae Kwon Do.

BASEBALL CAMP with elite college baseball players from the Culpeper Cavaliers, Culpeper’s Valley Baseball League franchise
June 22 – 26, 2026, 12:00 – 2:00 pm
Ages 9-13
Camp fee: $120
All positions are welcome. Camp participants will receive instruction from a diverse group of high level college ball players from all over the country. The Culpeper Cavaliers collegiate summer baseball team franchise is operated by Culpeper Community Baseball. The organization’s mission is to provide a fun-filled, family-oriented, memorable experience and be a model program in terms of helping youth and the community in general. JUNIOR VOLLEYBALL FOR 3rd-5th GRADERS with Amy Pen Dreckman
June 22-26, 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Camp fee: $120
Description: Camp goals include developing foundational skills; teamwork and communication skills; basic mechanics of serving, passing, setting and hitting; and rotation and basic game rules. All with a focus on good sportsmanship!
Camp coach: Amy Pen Dreckman. Amy grew up in a volleyball family and has shared her love of the game with her own family (three daughters are volleyball players). She has coached teams for more than a decade and currently is the assistant coach for the PRFC high school travel team. Amy has also served as an assistant coach in the VHSAA League for 3 years. Amy is a personal trainer and health coach.
CLUBHOUSE ON THE COURTS with Suzanne Wirtz
July 6-10, 12:00 – 2:00 pm
Ages 3-6
Camp fee: $120
Description: Kids will enjoy age-appropriate court-based games, obstacle courses & more, plus imaginative play & crafts – all to encourage movement, curiosity and creativity! The camp will include themed days for shapes, colors, food and show and tell. Bounce party on the final day, with a bouncy house provided by Danny’s Bouncy House Rentals! Children should wear sneakers, bring a water bottle, and be able to use the restroom independently.
Camp manager Suzanne Wirtz has been the lead on health education & crafts in our Homeschool Movement & Health program since 2019 and has also been involved in recreation activities for area children’s camps and programs that visit our center. When not having fun with the kiddos, she is the lead Member Support Specialist at the PRFC front desk.

BASKETBALL coed skills program for middle school-age players with coach Bobby Zajkowski
July 13-17, 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Camp fee: $120
This basketball camp for boys & girls in middle school will focus on skills work and game play; improvement of muscular endurance, cardiovascular fitness, balance and coordination; and development of fundamental movement skills.
Coach Zajkowski is a middle school basketball coach and a personal trainer at Powell Wellness Center.

ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE CAMP with personal trainer Edson Appleton
July 20, 22, 24, 2026

Camp participants will work with Edson Appleton, a personal trainer at PRFC. With over 13 years of experience in health, fitness and sports, Edson has worked as a strength & conditioning coach for athletes at all levels, a personal trainer, and youth sports coach. He sees himself as an educator in health and human kinetics, focusing on teaching proper mechanics, efficient movement patterns and nutrition to empower athletes. Edson’s passion lies in helping others reach their full potential through safe, effective training plans that create lasting change.
VOLLEYBALL tryouts prep camp for girls Olivia Masaitis
For rising 6th-9th graders
July 27 – 31, 2026, 12:00 – 4:00 pm
Camp fee: $180
Prepare to stand out in school volleyball tryouts! Participants will work on serve receive consistency, defensive positioning and reads, passing accuracy and ball control, serving under pressure, court rotations and IQ, and leadership and communication. Camp includes tryout-style drills, competitive game-like reps, position-specific attention and immediate coaching feedback.
Camp manager Olivia Masaitis brings both playing and coaching experience to the program. She has more than a decade of experience coaching volleyball players from 6 to 18 years old, from beginner to advanced skill levels, including at the high school varsity level. Her experience as a player includes competitive play as a defensive specialist with the Eastern View High School Cyclones and Greensboro College Pride. She is also a certified volleyball official. Olivia has a Master’s degree in Sport Management & Biomechanics.
BASKETBALL with coach James Thompson
Advanced basketball clinic for high school boys
July 27 – 31, 2026, 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Camp fee: $120
Description: Advanced basketball skills and drills for high school athletes (boys) focusing on overall player development. Coach Thompson coaches the Culpeper County High School boys’ varsity team. This camp will include passing, dribbling, defensive, shooting, rebounding & ball handling drills with 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3 and full court game play!
