Path Recreation and Fitness Center is a community-focused facility open to the public that offers recreation and fitness programs designed for all ages and interests in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Connect with neighbors, build relationships, have fun, and achieve your fitness goals as you enjoy everything our center has to offer. Come as you are: find your fun, find your fit! 

OUR FACILITY

The center comprises 27,000 square feet of recreation, fitness, activity room and amenity space. Our multi-use sport courts accommodate basketball, volleyball, and pickleball for individual practice, open gym, and league play. You can also practice your swing or pitch in our indoor batting cages!

 

In the fitness area, enjoy top-of-the-line cardio equipment, strength and functional fitness equipment, and exercise classes. Personal training and small group training are available to help you achieve your goals safely and successfully.

 

Two multi-use activity rooms are available for rental.

ACCESS TO AMENITIES

Access to amenities within the center is available via a drop-in fee (recreation or recreation/fitness), monthly recreation pass, or All Access membership, which also includes the Powell Wellness Center. A Fitness Only Membership is available for use of the fitness amenities within PRFC. For complete details, please visit the Recreation and Membership pages.

TEAM

Christine Kauffmann, PRFC Director

Christine joined the Culpeper Wellness Foundation as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer in 2017. With more than 10 years of experience as a health and wellness coach, she is passionate about supporting others on their wellness journeys, with particular interest in reducing risk for chronic illness. She has taught a diverse array of adult and youth fitness classes from Country Heat cardio to P90X cardio & strength to homeschool youth fitness. Christine’s certifications include: personal training and group exercise (American Council on Exercise), fitness nutrition, and corrective exercise. Prior to becoming PRFC director, she actively supported many operational, logistical and administrative aspects of the recreation center’s 2022 opening and first year of operations, including staff training and customer service.

With more than 3 years' involvement in our organization's child care program, "Mrs. Jessica" is a familiar face to many of our member families. She has always loved being surrounded by kids, and says, "Working in a job where I can make kids smile and know that they love coming back again is the best feeling!" Whether snuggling babies or guiding a project for young artists and crafters, Jessica’s commitment to kids is evident. Prior to joining our team, she spent 20 years as a teacher's aide and nanny for many families. She has a 22-year-old daughter who recently earned a teaching degree and is teaching elementary school. When not working, Jessica loves to travel the world with her husband.

Suzanne Wirtz, Member Support Specialist

Suzanne Wirtz, Member Support Specialist

Suzanne joined the Culpeper Wellness Foundation team in 2021 and has been a welcoming presence at PRFC’s front desk in her role as Member Support Specialist. She loves greeting members and visitors and in particular celebrating their achievements in and out of the fitness and recreation center. Suzanne brings many years of customer service experience to her position. She spent 18 years as a Litigation Manager with USAA Insurance and 10 years as a Design Specialist with Pottery Barn. She loves decorating and gardening and her customer service includes keeping the center alive and vibrant with seasonal decorations and flower arrangements from her garden. Suzanne resides in Culpeper with her husband. Her favorite activities in her off hours include spending time at the beach, skiing, traveling and connecting with family and friends.

CHILD CARE

PRFC Kids Corner

Our cozy Kids’ Corner for members or day visitors includes care for children 6 weeks to 12 years old. You can enjoy complete peace of mind knowing that your little ones are well cared for while you work out, take a class, or enjoy the recreational facilities. Our supervised playroom with toys and activities for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years has morning and afternoon/evening hours available for members. Your child’s visit may include active games and crafts.

 

Kids’ Corner has a dedicated restroom and cubbies are available for personal items. For your child’s health and safety, our Kids’ Corner staff are certified in first aid and CPR. 

 

Hours 

Monday – Thursday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 4:00 – 7:00 pm
Friday & Saturday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm 

Space may be limited at times to maintain appropriate child/caregiver ratios.
Closed Sunday 

 

Kids’ Corner is available to members for up to two hours of care per day while a parent or guardian is in the facility. Child care is offered at $5 per visit or at no charge for children included in family memberships.  Pick up a punch card and save: 30 visits for $120.

 

As part of our protocols, diaper changes will not be available. Also, if your child requires a swing or play seat, please bring their car seat. Parents may bring water bottles and baby bottles. Please, due to allergy concerns, no additional food unless required for health reasons (foods need to be allergy friendly).
