On February 10, 2023, the Culpeper Wellness Foundation received a $20,000 gift from Full Circle Thrift Store to support youth access to recreational opportunities at the PATH Recreation & Fitness Center. PATH Recreation & Fitness Center (PRFC) is open to the public and is managed by the Foundation.

Foundation president Shari Landry said, “Our mission at PRFC is to offer healthy & fun fitness and recreation activities for children and families, helping to build a strong community.  Participation in positive recreation reduces isolation and loneliness and builds resiliency and self-esteem.  And, when families engage in activities together it provides an opportunity to share a positive experience and build stronger bonds.  It’s important to us that PRFC serve the recreational needs of all local residents regardless of income level.  This generous gift will help to support free programming and activity or membership scholarships for children who might otherwise not be able to participate.  We’re tremendously grateful to Full Circle for their support.”

David Martin, Full Circle store manager commented, “On behalf of our Board of Directors, employees, and many customers, we know these funds are needed and we are pleased to support recreational activities for our youth.”

Full Circle board member Pam Oliver added, “From the beginning, Full Circle’s mission has been to help the underserved of Culpeper. This is an investment in the children of our community, following our motto of “Culpeper helping Culpeper”.”

Since opening in 2022, PRFC has offered a variety of programming including open court times for basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and futsal; coached youth sessions for basketball and futsal; and diverse classes that have included smartphone photography and mosaic art creation. Monthly game nights for tweens and for families include court time, and use of the games such as air hockey and ping pong. Other programs for youth include tumbling, sports performance and taekwondo. PRFC is located at 19002 Crossroad Parkway in Culpeper.

Individuals interested in inquiring about scholarship eligibility are welcome to call the PRFC front desk at 540-825-0000 or access the scholarship form online.
